For those who are unable to work, Social Security Disability can help you provide for yourself and your family. That said, there are certain requirements that come with that. For example, being eligible is dependent on how many work credits you have earned in your time working, this is only applicable to jobs that pay into Social Security!

Work credits are limited to earning up to 4 per year and in 2020 and up to $1,410 earned will get you a single work credit. Another important thing to remember is that the number of work credits required depends on  your age.

Beside work credits, you still will need to have developed an injury or illness that is preventing you from working to be eligible for Social Security Disability.

As stated earlier, the number of work credits required depends on your age as well as when you have become disabled.

Documentation will be needed from prior doctor visits so be ready to provide the correct material needed. Lastly, do not go through the struggle alone of applying for SSD, use an attorney to effectively apply in a timely manner.
