A New Tool Allows Veterans to Track Their VA Benefits Appeals

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and The U.S. Digital Service have launched a new Appeal Status tool on the Vets.gov website. This tool allows for veterans to track the progress of their appeal, as well as access information about their VA claim. Included are alerts for action, time estimates for each step of the benefit process, and more. The overall goal of this improved Appeal Status tool is to increase transparency for veterans who are currently going through this often lengthy process.

VA Secretary David Shulkin stated, “It is important that our Veterans have the opportunity to track their appeals process in a timely and efficient manner. For the first time ever, Veterans can see their place on the Board of Veterans’ Appeals’ docket, including the number of appeals that are ahead of them.”
