VA Clinic Holds Open House, Officials Ask Veterans To Call It Home

MUNCIE, Ind. — More than 100 veterans and community members filled the front lobby of Muncie’s new community-based outpatient medical clinic Friday afternoon.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held from noon to 1 p.m. on March 6 at 3401 N. Morrison Road, where visitors could tour the new facility and enroll at the clinic.

The event started with a prayer, presentation of colors and a singing of the national anthem.

Development of the new facility began in 2018 when the number of patients outgrew the old facility at the corner of White River Boulevard and Tillotson Avenue.

“We were just out of room in the old facility,” Kayla Underwood, the clinic’s operations manager, told The Star Press in February. “We were fighting over exam space. We needed a bigger place.”

The new location offers nearly twice as much space at 21,060-square feet. Instead of 10 exam rooms, the new clinic has 23.
