The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers monthly benefits to veterans who sustained an injury or illness during active military service. Included in this are pre-existing disabilities that were made worse due to service. The onset of disabilities after active duty can also qualify a veteran for VA Disability if it is found to be “related to circumstances of military service”, according to the VA.
To be eligible for VA Compensation, a veteran must have a condition that fits any of the above categories for disability. Additionally, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge.

First, download the Application for Disability Compensation and Related Compensation Benefits Form. Then, print the form and fill it out. Next, bring the completed form to your local benefits office, or, mail it to the following address:
