Disability Qualifications
For someone to be accurately labeled as disabled, they must have an impairment that restricts them from doing a certain amount of work for at least one full year. That said, the SGA income limit for 2020 is $1,260 a month.
When applying for benefits, if an applicant is exceeding that income threshold they will immediately be denied as social security sees their income level as being too high to receive benefits and they are not seen as “disabled” by the SSA. Yes this means you can be working and be eligible for benefits at the same time.
One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to provide the medical documents that provide evidence that your impairment is limiting your work ability. You will need medical paperwork that is within the last 60-90 days
