Client Testimonial: John D.

John D., like many clients, turned to Victory Disability for assistance after his first Social Security Disability claim was denied.

John has an extensive military background. He served his country for a total of 24 years; ten on active duty and the remainder spent fulltime with the National Guard. He served for four years in Korea before being deployed to Iraq in 2004. John had several occupations while in the military: engineer, mechanic, motor sergeant, and human resources. He retired in 2015 as a Human Resources Sergeant Major, age 59.

The majority of John’s medical conditions originated from his deployment in Iraq. After hitting an IED, he developed back problems, hearing loss, and a traumatic brain injury. In addition, John suffers from PTSD. He has a 100% service connected rating from the VA.

The Benefit Process

After getting his VA rating, John decided to file for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). He had received a call from Victory Disability but informed us that he would be going forth with the process on his own. Once stating that he would be in contact if he encountered any issues, our representative mailed out an informational packet. Roughly three months later, John received notice that his claim had been denied. Victory Disability took over, first filing a reconsideration then an appeal. Before the ALJ hearing, John was met by a local attorney to further discuss the details of the case. Victory Disability has a network of over 200 attorneys nationwide which allows for this in-person representation. The claim was approved before they had left the courtroom, and John received his first payment within six weeks.

Review of Victory Disability

“Victory Disability was easy to work with. They took care of gathering most of my records but needed me to get some from a local clinic. Some places charge for sending your medical records, but Victory does not. They also called two days before the hearing and requested I send information about any treatment that occurred in the past two weeks. They were prepared when we showed up to the appeal.”
