Client Testimonial: Lee L.

Lee L. is just one of many satisfied clients of Victory Disability. He respectfully served 24 years in the United States Air Force; 17 years as a Security Policeman and 7 as a First Sergeant.

Lee’s debilitating medical conditions stem back as far as the earliest part of his military career. He suffers from lower back problems, shoulder complications, and weakening of his left arm/hand. This is particularly problematic as Lee is left-handed. In addition to these physical disabilities, he often faces anxiety related symptoms. As a cumulative result, Lee was no longer working and was under the care of a physician starting September 1, 2016 (age 60).

The Benefit Process

Having seen an ad for Victory Disability, Lee reached out via email. He was then contacted by a representative for an interview, during which they discussed his medical conditions and work history. Our representative felt that he qualified for Social Security Disability, and the process with Victory Disability began on February 2, 2017. Within a week the initial application had been filed on his behalf. On August 3, Lee received notice from the Social Security Administration (SSA) that his claim had been approved. His benefits started immediately, with backpay dating to March 1, 2017.

Review of Victory Disability

When asked about his experience with Victory Disability, Lee stated, “Victory Disability made this entire process very easy. They did all the filing. When I had questions [for Victory Disability] regarding the paperwork I was asked to fill out by the SSA, they were very prompt with responses both by email and phone. Ashley was assigned to my case; we communicated via email mostly, however, she provided her direct phone line and was always ready to assist. Everyone that I spoke with was very supportive.”

The denial rate for veterans is very high when applying for Social Security disability, specifically during the initial application stage. Lee was prepared for any outcome: “Based on research I did, prior to and while the claim was being processed, I had an understanding that SSA would likely deny my claim the first time out. Victory Disability assured me that they would carry on and ensure I was served through any appeal. For me, the claim was approved on the first attempt. I don’t believe that would have been possible without the support of Victory Disability.”
